Like many people interested in art John was drawn to it at an early age. Art was a hobby for the most part until he worked in the graphics industry for about 4/5 years. Eventually the pursuit of income was a bigger driving force than the pure love of art. John continued painting more as a hobby until he retired in 2011 where he took the time to re-educate himself and pursued art more vigorously.
Today John's interests lie in all manner of subjects from landscape, figurative to portraits. Plein air (painting on location outdoors) is a wonderful way to hone your skill in art. John attempts to paint outdoors frequently.
John is currently an instructor at Niagara College to students interested in Plein Air painting (painting outdoors).
John has participated in art competitions although very infrequently. He tends to stay away from art exhibitions and shows for the most part.
