Tina Clancy

Tina creates abstract paintings in acrylics and mixed media in her home studio in Milton, Ontario. Her paintings are alive with movement, colour, and expression.

Intrigued by the expressive nature of the materials, Tina is constantly experimenting with technique and style to allow the expressiveness of the painting to emerge.

For her, painting is a reflective, contemplative, and intuitive experience when memories and imagination mingle and inform each new piece.

She has had the good fortune to study with skilled instructors, all of whom have expanded her understanding of and practice with different methods including layering, glazing, dispersion, pour painting, paper collage, and many mixed media techniques.

Since retiring in 2012, her work has been in several shows and juried exhibits in Milton, Hamilton, Toronto, and the Niagara Peninsula.

Tina is an active member of The Fine Arts Society of Milton (FASM); she manages their website and shows her work in their exhibits at the Holcim Gallery in FirstOntario Arts Centre Milton. She manages the website for the St. Catharines Art Association (SCAA), writes their monthly newsletters, and exhibits regularly in their shows. She is a member of the Niagara Pumphouse Arts Centre where she exhibits year round. Tina also exhibits regularly in Art in the Workplace exhibits at the Atrium@MIP (McMaster Innovation Park) in Hamilton, Ontario.

“I marvel at the wonders I spy through a window, up a tree, at the side of the road, beyond the shore...

... fleeting glimpses, tracks in the snow, shadows cast, mist floating, milky skies, seasons changing, and the stillness of being.

Nature that lives and breathes.

My paintings ... emergent and evanescent ... reflect the love and joy I feel for this vast and beautiful world. I welcome you to share them with me.”
