Board of Directors

The VAW Board of Directors is a very active group of devoted volunteers who have made great strides in their debut years. Their motto is to work together, as a team, lending each other a helping hand wherever needed to get the job done and to keep the VAW brand strong and impactful.

1) Deedee Alexandre, CO-PRESIDENT
1) Deedee Alexandre, CO-PRESIDENT

Deedee is an arts advocate, a visual artist, and native of the Niagara Peninsula. She started painting representational and impressionist abstracts in April 2011. Deedee is the President and a Co-Founder of the Visual Artists of Welland (VAW) and a lifetime member of the Niagara Pumphouse Arts Centre.

2) Pamela Duncan, CO-PRESIDENT
2) Pamela Duncan, CO-PRESIDENT

Pamela is a current member of St. Catharines Art Association and Haldimand Artworks.
Born and raised in Welland, her work is wide and varied in nature. Watercolours, oils, acrylics, pen and ink, pastels, and charcoal are all within the scope of her portfolio. Pamela's paintings tend to the realistic rather than abstract but she has great admiration for all art forms.

4) Marilyn Nevills, TREASURER

Marilyn currently resides in Welland and is retired. Since retiring she has had time to explore and grow in the art of painting while being self taught and also through online learning. Her work has won awards in competition as well as helping to raise money for local charity. Her works are also displayed in homes throughout the area.

4) Patricia Haftar, SECRETARY
4) Patricia Haftar, SECRETARY

Patricia makes art to satisfy an inner instinct, to communicate with viewers in a way that supersedes what mere language can describe. The greatest influences on her art have been the Group of Seven, the Impressionists, Mondrian, and Picasso. Patricia’s work stands out because of how she applies colour, texture, movement and pattern. These four elements of design have become the signature of each of her paintings.

Tina is a native of Niagara Falls but has lived in Milton since 1995. While she has enjoyed sketching and drawing since she was young, she tried painting in 2013 and fell instantly in love. She paints abstractions and impressionist renderings plucked from nature and her imagination.

7) Tracy Greening, MEMBER-AT-LARGE
7) Tracy Greening, MEMBER-AT-LARGE

Tracy began decorative painting in 2006 and has since expanded her artistic skills to include fine arts in acrylics, charcoals, pastels, watercolours and mixed media. Tracy has a Business Administration & Computer Support Specialist background. She is currently a member and Website Administrator for the Pelham Art Association (PAA); also a member and Trading Card Coordinator of DAIC (Discovering Arts in Canada).
