The VAW has a strong sense of outreach, and has made it a goal to help those in need. In addition to supporting the next generation of artists through the VAW Scholarship Fund, the VAW has raised thousands of dollars to help charities near and far through fundraisers and donations.

The VAW always welcomes donations to help support the following funds:

THE VAW SCHOLARSHIP FUND

The VAW provides a monetary award to one student from each of the eight local high schools who plans to pursue an art-related program at the post-secondary level.

HOPE CENTRE

Since 2018 when the VAW was first established, it has run special exhibits and silent auctions to raise money for the Hope Centre in Welland.

UKRAINE RELIEF FUND

When the government announced that they would match funds raised to support Ukraine during the Russian invasion, the VAW kicked into high gear. Artwork from members poured in to the Gallery Shop, and 100% of the proceeds would be donated to Ukrainian Relief. The VAW raised over $5000.00, part of which included matched funds from the Mall.
