Irina Laucius
I try to find my voice in Art. The sources of inspiration - events, music, human emotions, the senses - are well emphasized in the titles of my creations. My style and technique reflect my passion and vision.
I am a new local artist and became a member of VAW in October 2021 when I moved to Welland.
I immigrated from Belarus to Canada in 1999 escaping with my family from the Belarusian regime and Chernobyl nuclear pollution. I started my career in Canada from a cleaner in Tim Hortons and a junior bookkeeper to a senior clerk in the CIBC mortgage department. I retired from CIBC and started to paint in 2017.
I prefer to work with acrylic paints, ink and spray paint. I like to work with mixed media, create different styles of wall art craft, collages and assemblages. Lately I have started to discover watercolours.
I like to produce objective and non-objective abstracts, landscapes, seascapes, and flowers.
