Ever since as a young child she embellished faces in her mother’s magazines, Jacqui has been creating. When raising her five children, time was short for serious artistic endeavors but her art supplies were always ready for free moments. As her style has matured, art has become a forum to comment on her world. Her work explores relationships between people and the environments they create. Jacqui’s pen and ink drawings reveal a love affair with “line” and she often digs into the past to rediscover classic design and aesthetics. In contrast her acrylic paintings and mixed media work push the boundaries of materials and techniques. While her resultant body of work might vary widely from broad strokes to intricate detail, it is always evocative and thoughtful.
