Tom Messina
Born in Agrigento Sicily, Gaetano Tom Messina immigrated to Canada with his parents at the age of 2. From a young age, Tom worked on his own, until enrolling in art classes in high school, teaching himself and improving his skills with all types of media. While living in Alberta, Tom had his own gallery, where he produced and sold many pieces of his own and other local artisans. His works have been exhibited in private collections and galleries in Alberta, Ontario, New York, and Italy. Each piece he creates is an original Tom refuses to give into the mass marketing of making prints of his work, all his pieces are one of a kind. Tom feels that anyone investing in artwork should have an original not a reproduction. From the calm and peaceful to the turbulent Tom’s works are a part of himself.
